About Me
Hi, welcome to my website!
My name is Rachel (she/they), and I am a freelance learning designer.
I previously worked as an Educational researcher and Lecturer in the School of Education at Durham University. I taught on modules looking at educational research methods, contemporary issues and evidence, digital society and educational technology, and PGCE modules. I was also the Programme Director for the Master of Professional Practice (MProf), and I supervised taught Masters dissertations.
Prior to my role at Durham, I was the module convenor and lead tutor for the chemistry, maths and statistics modules in the Department for Lifelong Learning at Sheffield University where I taught mainly-mature widening participation students.
While working at Sheffield, I completed a part-time PhD in Education titled “Technology and technology-enhanced learning: Age differences in use and attitudes”. I’m also a journal reviewer, and lover of learning, education, and Yorkshire Tea!
I also run a YouTube channel with over 2 million views (and counting) where I put up free maths and science videos: Science Made Simple
